Roberta has over twenty seven years of experience working in the technology industry in Canada and the US. She is known and respected for her depth, hands on and strategic experience deploying and managing complex technologies, as well as her innovative and creative approaches to bringing advanced and next generation technologies to help clients improve business results.
Her initial corporate experience involved the design, installation and management of advanced voice and data technology solutions roles for major Canadian and multi-national corporations such as Develcon, Citibank, Hewlett-Packard and EDS.
Roberta’s career continued to evolve to senior business development and practice management roles for professional services and management consulting firms such as Hewlett-Packard Canada, Deloitte Consulting and AT&T Solutions
In 2000, Roberta formed FOX GROUP Consulting. In 2001, she convinced her husband, Stephen Lawson to leave his corporate CIO role, and join her in growing and managing FOX GROUP.
Since then, Roberta has selected seasoned professionals from the technology, telecommunications and various other industry sectors to join her. All of the FOX professionals bring a combination of technology, business and management experience with shared values and ethics..
Roberta is a frequent professional speaker on next generation technology trends by combining her unique combination of hands-on technology experience, management consulting and analysis in addition to her professional facilitation skills. She also frequently writes for, and is sought after for her thought-providing insight for leading national and international telecommunications and business publications.
Roberta has taught at and participates on academic advisory committees on telecommunications technology with numerous Canadian institutes of higher education such as Humber College and Ryerson Poytechnical University.
Roberta has experience in the Canadian regulatory environment representing Canadian Corporate clients to the Canadian Radio and Television Commission and had the unique opportunity of participating in the early 1990’s introduction of competition in the telecommunications industry as former Vice-Chairman and Board of Director for the anadian Business Telecommunications Alliance (CBTA), and chaired the Information Highway Advisory Task force with the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC).
She is active and has been involved in many professional and business associations including Board of Director of the Markham Board of Trade, MBT, Director and Treasurer of the East Gwillimbury Chamber of Commerce, EGCOC, Director of the Canadian Telework Association, CTA, s upporting member of the Canadian Telecommunication Consultants Association (CTCA) CTCA, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), and the Canadian Professional Sales Association (CPSA), the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC), and the Canadian Business Telecommunications Alliance (CBTA).
Roberta recently won the 2007/2008 "Entrepeneur of the Year" for East Gwillimbury Chamber of Commerce. Roberta has been consistently selected for inclusion in the 2006/7 and 2007/2008 “Women in the Lead” directory, a Canadian publication of the top 600 Canadian Women potential board of director candidates. Women in the Lead.
In 2007 & 2008 she was nominated for the "Top 100 Women in Canada. In 2007 she won the “Influential Women of York Region” Award in technology, and is a founding business member of the York Region “Character Community” Business Initiative. Character Community Business Initiative.

Stephen W. Lawson, CPVA, CPBA, CAIA

Stephen Lawson has 25 years experience in the information technology industry in Canada. He has been involved in senior level hands-on technology support, project management and training for many large corporate clients spanning a diverse range of technologies and industries.
He has also been responsible for technology support programs, staff requirements, staff management and development for complex distributed technology environments. His experience has been gained in both corporate and consulting roles in information technology management, IT architecture, vendor management and technology staff supervision. He has also been involved in numerous technology start-up companies in a supporting/operations role.
He has completed numerous architecture and consulting projects in VoIP migration strategies and implementations, local and wide area networks, network operating system selections, hardware and software analysis and selection, competitive analysis, intelligence and benchmarking for a wide range of technology vendors and industries.
He is certified as a Professional Behavioral Analysis with TTI in the areas of attitudes, values & behaviours. These tools and analysis relates to recruiting, developing and managing IT, sales, service and call centre organizations.
He has extensive experience in the areas of network architecture, design, implementation, administration and project management for clients ranging in size from small businesses to multinational companies and the Provincial government. He focuses on ensuring that VoIP/IT/LAN/WAN infrastructures are designed and maintained to optimize the technology and minimize the risks to his clients.
Stephen Lawson possesses the unique combination of strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and writing skills; and extensive hands-on technical capabilities in designing, installing and purchasing a broad range of network and computing equipment. Stephen’s goal is to match businesses with the right technology for their needs. Through a combination of technical aptitude and a solid understanding of customer service, he provides insight into the business needs of the clients and offers solutions customized to their business.
